What material is dx51d?

dx51d represents the grade or material of an ordinary galvanized coil. The most common grade of galvanized coil currently on the market is SGCC, which is the Japanese standard (Japanese standard). DX51D and DC51D are European standards.

The material of dx51d galvanized sheet is mainly a non-ferrous alloy made of zinc as a base and adding other elements. The main alloying elements are aluminum, copper, magnesium, etc. Zinc alloy has a low melting point, good fluidity, easy plastic processing and welding, and is resistant to atmospheric corrosion.
galvanized coating
According to the manufacturing process, it is divided into cast zinc alloy and deformed zinc alloy. The commonly used cast zinc alloy is zinc-aluminum-copper-magnesium alloy. Its casting process performance is good and the cooling rate has little effect on the mechanical properties. It is mostly used to manufacture mechanical parts, toys, and decorations. products, household appliances, etc.

Commonly used deformed zinc alloys include zinc-aluminum alloy and zinc-copper alloy. The former contains 4% to 15% aluminum. In order to improve the strength and hardness of the alloy, a small amount of copper, magnesium and other alloying elements are also added. It has high strength and is easy to form, and can replace part of brass or hard aluminum in manufacturing precision forgings. The latter contains 0.7% to 1.5% copper. Copper can increase the strength and impact toughness of the alloy and reduce the plasticity. Zinc-copper alloy is suitable for making daily hardware products or replacing some brass.

What is the difference between cold rolling and hot rolling?
Hot-rolled steel is rolled at high temperatures. Cold-rolled steel plates have better strength, while cold-rolled hot-rolled steel plates have better ductility. Generally, the thickness of cold rolling is relatively small, while the thickness of hot rolling can be larger. Cold plates are used for cold-formed spring sheets and other parts. The thickness is pretty standard. When not rusty, it looks a bit bright like stainless steel; the hot-rolled surface is rough.
